Goal Setting for 2018

In my last post, I listed out some goals…. but in actuality, I wouldn’t consider them goals. I am rereading Entreleadership BY Dave Ramsey  and I was reminded that goals must be specific and goals must be measurable. They also need to have a time limit. So even though I listed, “Videography” as a goal, that in itself is more of a category for a goal.

The book references Zig Ziglars, “wheel of life” and “spokes of goal setting”. There are 7 spokes which are:

  1. Career
  2. Financial
  3. Spiritual
  4. Physical
  5. Intellectual
  6. Family
  7. Social

You then break down each one of those category and make goals that are specific, measurable and time specific. So if I have a goal to introduce more videography into Miss Jee’s for 2018, I need to look at the year, then break that down into what I need to accomplish for the month and then what needs to be accomplished each week. Entreleadership gives a great example of, “If you want to make $100,000 a year, then figure out how much you need to make each month.” Start with big goals and then break them down into smaller goals that will be the stepping stones to get you to the big goal.

I have written each category in my journal and am now working on ACTUAL goals for each category. So, once I have ACTUAL goals, I’ll be sharing them here. <3

What are some of your goals?? I would LOVE to hear them!

“Goals that work have five components. You must address each of these components to have a real goal that will work. Remember, goals are not wishes, teams or even visions. Goals are bringing those things down to earth, and with our feet planted firmly on the ground we begin to take actual steps to make our dreams come true. ” – Dave Ramsey, Entreleadership
